We handcrafted this Pinot Noir to represent the grapes grown in California. This Pinot Noir exudes flavors with grace and complexity. The nuances of black cherry, cola, dried cranberries, and currant with a long, smooth finish.
The grapes were hand-picked at night and in the early morning and taken to the winery to get 100% destemmed. After a brief cold soak, they were fermented in small vats, maximizing temperature at 85 degrees F. After being gently pressed, the lots went through 100% malolactic fermentation before aging in French oak and American oak for 16 months. A mixture of light and medium + toast contributed body, richness, and finesse to this elegant wine.
This wine was sourced from our vineyards in Monterey, Sonoma and Santa Barbara Counties. From the steep slopes of Carmel Valley to the rolling hills of Salinas Valley, Monterey has cool coastal fog allowing grapes to be intense and flavorful. The fog of the Santa Lucia Highlands gives the wine freshness while the Santa Barbara hill vineyard blocks provide a balancing ripeness and roundness. Sonoma County, where warm sunny days are moderated by cooling maritime influences adds fruit and density. Rolling hills, sandy, well-drained soils and careful vineyard site selection mean that we get a great mix of ripeness, flavor, and acid retention. The range of vineyards and growing areas creates a Pinot Noir that is complex yet approachable and luscious on the palate.
This Merlot is aromatic, rich and true to varietal character with aromas of jammy red and black fruits, a full midpalate and a smooth, vanilla-spice finish.
We picked our individual Merlot vineyard blocks in both Paso Robles and Monterey County with the perfect balance between ripeness, phenolic maturity, and flavor. The grapes were 100% destemmed, fermented in stainless steel tanks, and then pressed gently down to age in the cellar. The lots were aged in a combination of medium and medium-plus toasted French and American oak barrels to impart body, a full and spicy midpalate and a lingering finish.
This Merlot was sourced from our vineyard properties in Paso Robles and Monterey on California’s Central Coast. We control the entire process from vineyard to bottle and offer a pure expression of the wine quality. The combination of warm sunny days and cool nights allows the fruit to develop deep and complex flavors, while maintaining refined and elegant characteristics.
